The drug Vormin is a highly effective agent of synthetic origin, the therapeutic effect of which is aimed at the destruction of helminths.
Release form and composition of the drug
Vormin drug is available in the form of tablets for oral administration of 6 pieces in a blister in a cardboard box. The composition of each tablet contains the active ingredient - mebendazole, as well as a number of auxiliary components: starch, gelatin, magnesium stearate, calcium hydrophosphate, talc, vanillin, dye.
Pharmacological properties of the drug
The drug Vormin is intended for oral administration and has a pronounced anthelmintic property. The main active ingredient of the pill, mebendazole, has a broad spectrum anthelmintic property, but its maximum effective is observed in relation to the causative agents of enterobiosis.
When a tablet enters the gastrointestinal tract, rapid absorption of the active active ingredients of the drug occurs. Mebendazole causes irreversible processes in the body of worms and prevents their further movement and reproduction.
Indications for use of the drug
Vormin tablets are prescribed to patients for the treatment and prevention of the following conditions:
- Helminth invasions caused by enterobiasis, ascariasis, echinococcosis, trichocephalosis;
- With the defeat of the patient at once with several types of worms;
- In order to prevent the development of helminthiasis with direct contact with the patient.
This drug can only be prescribed by a doctor, as the tablets have a number of serious contraindications. These include:
- Severe diseases of the liver and hepatic ducts;
- Individual intolerance of the components included in the tablet;
- Breastfeeding period;
- In pediatric practice in children under 2 years old;

Dosage and administration
The dosage of the drug and the duration of the course of therapy is determined by the doctor in a strictly individual manner. It directly depends on the type of pathogen, the severity of the disease, individual tolerance, the patient's age and body weight.
According to the instructions, Vormin tablets should be taken independently of food, not chewed or crushed, with a necessary amount of water.
Adults and children over 12 years old are prescribed 1 tablet with a dosage of 100 mg once a day. For children from 2 to 10 years old, depending on body weight, for the treatment of enterobiosis, ½ or ¼ tablets of Vormin are prescribed 1 time per day.
In order to prevent recurrence of helminthic invasion with direct contact with a sick person, the drug therapy course is repeated after 2 weeks in the same dosage.
With simultaneous damage to the patient's body by several types of worms at once, the drug is prescribed 2-4 tablets with a dosage of 100 mg 2-3 times a day. The duration of the course of therapy is at least 3 days, then, if necessary, the course is prolonged, slightly reducing the initial dose of the drug.
Use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation
Vormin tablets are not prescribed for the treatment of women in the waiting period of the child. This is due to the lack of data regarding the safety of the main active ingredient of the drug on the development of the fetus in the womb and the general course of pregnancy.
Use of this drug during breastfeeding is possible only if a woman stops feeding the baby with her milk and translates it into artificial feeding with milk formulas.
