Mechanism of action:
The special form of the manufacture of tablets allows you to consistently deliver the components of the drug in the necessary sections of the gastrointestinal tract. The shell of Vimovo tablets contains an immediate release of Esomeprazole Magnesium, due to which the substance exerts its effect almost immediately after entering the stomach.
At the core of the pill is naproxen, hidden under the enteric shell with a sustained release. As a result, naproxen begins to be absorbed into the bloodstream only in the small intestine. The special release of the active components of Vimovo minimizes the negative effects of naproxen on the gastric mucosa.
Naproxen is a representative of a group of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic drugs. The properties of this component Vimovo allow you to reduce or completely get rid of pain in the joints and muscles, reduce the manifestation of the inflammatory process. Naproxen significantly reduces morning stiffness and swelling of joints, increases the range of motion.
Esomeprazole refers to proton pump inhibitors. The proton pump in the human body is responsible for the production of hydrochloric acid in the stomach. The use of drugs from the group of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, which include naproxen, adversely affects the inner surface of the stomach, causing irritation, erosion, gastritis and ulcers. Esomeprazole blocks the production of hydrochloric acid, which reduces irritation of the gastrointestinal mucosa.
Indications for use:
Vimovo is used to relieve pain in persons with an increased risk of developing gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer with the following pathologies of the musculoskeletal system:
