Vikair is a tablet drug acting on sensitive nerve endings. Sodium bicarbonate and magnesium carbonate alkalify (reduce the acidity) of gastric juice, inhibiting the activity of pepsin (a digestive enzyme that destroys the factors that protect the gastric mucosa).
Calamus rhizome has an antispasmodic effect, reduces the intensity of convulsive muscle contractions and pain in the stomach.
Under the influence of bismuth subnitrate, a peculiar protective film is formed on the surface of the mucous membrane, which protects the organ from self-digestion. However, this active component reduces the severity of inflammation and inhibits the activity of the bacterium Helicobacter pylori, which is the main cause of gastric ulcer.
Krushina has a laxative effect and contributes to the elimination of constipation, which often accompany hyperacid gastritis .
The drug is adsorbed in the digestive tract. Partially excreted by the kidneys, mostly - along with feces, in the form of sulfide. Systemic absorption of the drug is not observed. Due to the complexity of the composition and the presence in the tablets of herbal ingredients, it is not possible to determine the pharmacokinetic properties of the drug using the currently existing laboratory methods.
