Pharmacotherapeutic group : anti-congestant (decongestant to relieve swelling from the mucous membrane).

Dosage Form : nasal spray.

Release form : solution, transparent, or light yellow color, with a faint smell of lavender.

Pharmacological properties

Antiallergic, vasoconstrictor, anti-nesting.


Active substance :

  • phenylephrine;
  • dimetinden maleate.

Auxiliary components :

  • citric acid monohydrate;
  • sorbitol;
  • anhydrous sodium hydrogen phosphate;
  • hypromellose;
  • lavender oil;
  • 50% solution of benzalkonium chloride;
  • purified water.


Combined drug containing 2 active ingredients.

Phenylephrine is a symptomatic remedy, when applied topically, by stimulating α1-adrenoreceptor venous vessels of the nasal mucosa, has a vasoconstrictor effect, eliminates swelling of the nasal mucosa and the pneumatic sinuses.

Dimethinden is an antiallergic component, an antagonist of the H1-histamine receptors, which does not reduce the activity of the ciliated epithelium of the nasal mucosa.


Vibrocil spray is a topical medication. As a result, its activity does not correlate with the concentration of active substances in the blood plasma.

In case of accidental exposure of the drug to the oral mucosa and subsequent absorption of phenylephrine, bioavailability reaches approximately 38%, the half-life is 2.5 hours.

Indications for use

The drug is used as a symptomatic remedy for the following conditions:

  • colds;
  • nasal congestion;
  • acute and chronic rhinitis;
  • allergic rhinitis;
  • acute otitis media (as an adjuvant therapy drug);
  • preoperative preparation and postoperative removal of edema of the nasal mucosa and sinuses.


  • Hypersensitivity and individual intolerance to the components of the drug;
  • Atrophic rhinitis;
  • When taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors;
  • Children's age up to 6 years;
  • Pregnancy and lactation.

Dosage and administration

Before irrigation of the nasal cavity is recommended to thoroughly clean the nasal passages. Adults and children over 6 years old are recommended to use the drug 3-4 times a day, 1-2 injections. Bottle with the introduction of the spray in the nasal cavity should be kept strictly vertically. After the spray is injected, it is necessary to inhale slightly through the nose. The course of treatment should not exceed 7 days.

Side effect

In rare cases, the development of local allergic reactions (burning or drying of the nasal mucosa) may occur.

Drug interaction

Vibrocil spray is not recommended for use in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (including if the drug was taken in the previous 14 days).

The vasoconstrictor is prescribed with special care to patients taking antihypertensive drugs and tricyclic antidepressants.

Vibrocil spray is not recommended for children under 6 years of age. Prolonged (more than a week) use can lead to the development of tachyphylaxis and provoke the development of medical rhinitis (the so-called rebound effect). If you exceed the recommended dose of the drug may manifest its systemic effect. It does not have a sedative effect and does not affect the speed of psychomotor reactions.
