Vibrocil gel is a combination drug with anti-allergic and vasoconstrictor effects. Used externally, intranasally.
The form of release of the drug, its composition and packaging
Vibrocil gel is available as a uniform, colorless or pale yellow gel. It has a faint lavender scent. Does not contain mechanical inclusions and impurities.
Available in aluminum tubes with a special tip of 12 g. Tubes of 1 piece are enclosed in cardboard packs.
1 gram of gel Vibrocil contains 2.5 mg of phenylephrine and 250 μg of dimetinden maleate. Also as additional substances: anhydrous sodium hydrogen phosphate, sorbitol, citric acid, lavender oil, purified water, hypromellose, benzalkonium chloride solution 50%.
Mechanism of action
Vibrocil gel is a combined preparation containing a vasoconstrictor - phenylephrine and an antiallergic - dimetinden.
Phenylephrine is a stimulant of α1-adrenergic receptors located in the mucous membrane of the nasal passages. Due to this, there is a narrowing of blood vessels and removal of swelling from the mucous membranes and paranasal sinuses.
Dimetinden acts by blocking H1-histamines-dependent receptors. Interferes with the development of the allergic process, does not inhibit the work of the ciliated epithelium.
Vibrocil gel is a means of local application, and its effectiveness does not depend on the penetration of active substances into the systemic circulation.
Dosage form of the gel allows the drug to provide a longer activity compared with drops and spray.
When is it applied?
Vibrocil gel is used to treat rhinitis of various origins, namely:
- acute or chronic
As well as in acute otitis media (as part of a comprehensive treatment) and before surgery on the nose and surrounding tissues.
When and who is not recommended to use
Do not use Vibrocil gel for rhinitis with atrophy of the nasal mucosa, against the background of the use of MAO inhibitors, children under 6 years of age and with individual sensitivity to the ingredients of the drug.
Care must be taken in applying to patients with diseases of the cardiovascular system, the thyroid gland. Perhaps the deterioration of patients with glaucoma is closed coal type, BPH, diabetes of the first type.

Mode of application

There is no evidence of serious symptoms of overdose with Vibrocil. In case of accidental use of medication inside by children, no side effects were observed.

Do not use Vibrocil gel against the background of taking preparations of monoamine oxidase inhibitors, due to the content of the vasoconstrictor component of phenylephrine. Between the last intake of MAO inhibitors and the use of Vibrocil gel should take at least 14 days.
The combined use of Vibrocil gel with antidepressants and drugs for the treatment of hypertension is not recommended.
The use of Vibrocil gel during pregnancy and lactation
Since there is a possibility of the development of the systemic vasoconstrictive action of phenylephrine, which is a part of Vibrocil gel, you should not use this drug during gestation and breastfeeding.
Vibrocil gel is a topical agent and has no systemic side effects.
