Venoruton instructions for use
Venoruton - a drug that has an angioprotective and venotonic effect.
Release form and composition
Venoruton is available in the form of gelatin capsules for internal use. The capsules with the instruction are placed in a cardboard box, 20 and 50 capsules per pack (10 pieces per blister). Other forms of release - effervescent tablets for internal use, gel for external use.
The main active ingredient is hydroxyethyl rhozide. 1 capsule contains 300 mg of the active ingredient.
Auxiliary components: gelatin, titanium dioxide, macrogol 6000, dye iron oxide yellow.
Pharmacodynamics. Venoruton is a derivative of rutin. Shows venotonic and angioprotective properties, affects mainly the venous vessels and capillaries. Suppresses the aggregation of red blood cells. Reduces inflammation, normalizes tissue nutrition. Reduces the severity of clinical manifestations of chronic venous insufficiency - edema and pain, trophic disorders, seizures, varicose ulcers.
Venoruton reduces the clinical signs of hemorrhoids - itching, pain, bleeding.
Also, the drug, having a positive effect on the stability and permeability of the capillary walls, inhibits the development of diabetic retinopathy. Rutozid affects the rheological properties of blood, thereby preventing retinal microthrombosis.
Pharmacokinetics. After ingestion, the active substance is absorbed from the digestive tract. The degree of absorption is 10–15%. After 1–9 hours, the maximum plasma concentration is reached. The half-life is 10-25 hours. The main part of the active substance and active metabolites excreted in the bile, from 3 to 6% of the compounds by the kidneys.
Indications for use
Indications for the appointment of Venorouton can be:
- chronic venous insufficiency;
- postphlebitic syndrome;
- trophic disorders provoked by varicose veins;
- trophic ulcers;
- hemorrhoids , accompanied by pain, itching, exudation and bleeding;
- lymphostasis after sclerosing therapy and removal of varicose nodes (as an adjunct in complex therapy);
- retinopathy caused by diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension and atherosclerosis (as an adjunct in complex treatment);
- venous insufficiency or hemorrhoids during pregnancy (can be prescribed only from the second trimester).
The drug is contraindicated:
- in the first trimester of pregnancy;
- in case of hypersensitivity or individual intolerance of ruthosides or one of the auxiliary components.
Dosing and Administration
Gelatin capsules are taken whole inside, washed down with a sufficient amount of liquid.
The initial recommended daily dosage is 900 mg (1 capsule three times a day). After reducing the severity of symptoms (usually occurs after 2 weeks of treatment), the doctor decides whether to continue taking the drug, based on the patient's condition and the effectiveness of therapy. The continuation of treatment is carried out either in the same dosages, or the daily dose is reduced to 600 mg per day. The therapeutic effect of the drug usually lasts for a month.
For the treatment of lymphostasis, it is recommended to take Venoruton 3 g (10 capsules) per day, dividing the dose into 3 doses.
For the treatment of diabetic retinopathy prescribed from 0.9 g to 1.8 g per day (from 3 to 6 capsules).
Venoruton capsules are usually well tolerated by patients. In rare cases, there are undesirable side effects:
- on the part of the digestive system - heartburn, nausea, diarrhea;
- on the part of other systems - flushing of the face, headache;
- allergic reactions - skin rash.
Side effects after the abolition of Venoruton quickly pass.
There are no clinical data on cases of overdose with Venoruton.
If the severity of clinical symptoms does not diminish while taking Venorouton, a review of the therapy being conducted is recommended.
The simultaneous intake of vitamin C enhances the therapeutic effect of Venoruton.
Pregnancy and lactation
There are no clinical data on the safety of the drug in the first trimester of pregnancy, so Venoruton is contraindicated during this period.
From the second trimester, the drug can be administered to a pregnant woman only in situations where the intended benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risks to the fetus.
There are no complete structural analogues of the drug. The drugs similar in their mechanism of action and therapeutic effect include: Troxerutin capsules, Venorutinol capsules, Fleboton capsules, Venolan capsules.
Terms and conditions of storage
Venoruton capsules are stored in a dry, protected from sunlight, out of the reach of children, at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C. Shelf life is 3 years. Do not take capsules after the expiration date printed on the package.
