Venolife gel application instructions

Venolife gel is an external drug for topical use. It has an angioprotective and venotonic effect. It also has antithrombotic and anti-inflammatory properties, stimulates the regeneration of damaged tissues. It belongs to the group of direct acting anticoagulants.

Release form and composition

Venolife is produced in the form of a gel for external use, 40 g each and 100 g per tube. Another form of drug release is capsules for internal use.

The main active ingredients (in 1 g of gel):

  • Troxerutin - 20 mg;
  • dexpanthenol - 50 mg;
  • sodium heparin - 2.5 mg (300 IU).

Auxiliary components: propylene glycol, trometamol, phenylethanol, carbomer 940 or 980, purified water.

pharmachologic effect

Venolife gel - combined external preparation. It has a complex therapeutic effect due to the components.

Troxerutin - angioprotector. It is characterized by P-vitamin activity: lowers the permeability of cells of tissues and capillaries, reduces their fragility. Normalizes blood microcirculation and tissue trophism, reduces blood stasis in the veins. Shows anti-edema and anti-inflammatory effect.

Dexpanthenol is a provitamin of vitamin B 5 , in the tissues of the dermis is converted to pantothenic acid, which is an integral part of coenzyme A. In turn, coenzyme A is involved in oxidation and acetylation. Thus, dexpanthenol improves metabolic processes, promotes the restoration of damaged tissues, enhances the absorption of heparin.

Heparin is a direct anticoagulant, a natural anticoagulant factor of the body. Heparin, inhibiting the activity of hyaluronidase, contributes to a better recovery of connective tissue. Improves local blood circulation and prevents the formation of blood clots by activating the fibrinolytic properties of blood. Also exhibits anti-inflammatory properties.

One of the auxiliary components of the gel - phenylethyl alcohol (phenylethanol) has bactericidal and fungicidal properties, due to which it prevents the infection of inflamed tissues and the wound surface.

Indications for use

Venolife gel is used to relieve pain and reduce swelling, to eliminate trophic and microcirculatory disorders caused by venous insufficiency of the lower extremities.

Indications for use of the drug are:

  • varicose veins ;
  • thrombophlebitis in acute and chronic form;
  • postthrombotic syndrome;
  • chronic lymphostasis;
  • trophic ulcers without severe exudation in the regeneration phase;
  • soft tissue injuries (sprains, strains, hematomas).

Venolife gel is contraindicated:

  • in the presence of open infected wounds or trophic ulcers with copious exudate;
  • with individual intolerance or hypersensitivity to one of the main or auxiliary components.

Dosing and Administration

The gel is applied to the inflamed lesions and around them with a thin layer. Lightly distributed over the surface, gently rubbed (without pressure) until completely absorbed. The multiplicity of the use of funds - 2-3 times a day. Full course of treatment - from 2 to 3 weeks. The feasibility of a more prolonged use of the drug is considered by the doctor based on the form and severity of the disease, the effectiveness of the treatment. With the exacerbation of chronic pathologies, the therapeutic course can be repeated up to 3 times a year.

When treating trophic ulcers with weak exudate excretion, the wound surface must be cleaned of exudate and necrotic tissues before applying the gel. The affected skin areas are washed with 3% hydrogen peroxide solution, 0.05% chlorhexidine digluconate solution or furatsilina solution (1: 5000 dilution). After cleansing the wound surfaces, you need to wait until the treated areas of the skin dry out. The gel is applied to the lesions, a sterile dressing is applied on top. The dressing is changed once a day. If the treatment is carried out in an open way (without applying dressings), the gel is applied 1-2 times a day. The duration of the course of treatment is determined by the doctor, depending on the rate of healing of damaged tissues.
