Venolife gel instructions for use
Venolife gel is an external drug for topical use. It has an angioprotective and venotonic effect. Also has antithrombotic and anti-inflammatory properties, stimulates the regeneration of damaged tissues. Refers to a group of direct acting anticoagulants.
Form of issue and composition
Venolife is available in the form of a gel for external use, 40 g and 100 g in a tube. Another form of the drug is capsules for internal use.
The main active substances (in 1 g of gel):
- Troxerutin - 20 mg;
- Dexpanthenol 50 mg;
- Heparin sodium - 2.5 mg (300 units).
Auxiliary components: propylene glycol, trometamol, phenylethanol, carbomer 940 or 980, purified water.
Venolife gel is a combined external preparation. Has a complex therapeutic effect due to the constituent components.
Troxerutin is an angioprotector. Characterized by P-vitamin activity: reduces the permeability of cells of tissues and capillaries, reduces their fragility. Normalizes blood microcirculation and trophic tissue, reduces stagnation of blood in the veins. Has anti-edematous and anti-inflammatory effect.
Dexpanthenol is a vitamin B 5 provitamin, in the tissues of the dermis it is converted to pantothenic acid, which is an integral part of coenzyme A. In turn, coenzyme A participates in oxidation and acetylation. Thus, dexpanthenol improves metabolic processes, promotes the restoration of damaged tissues, enhances the absorption of heparin.
Heparin is a direct anticoagulant, a natural anti-coagulant factor in the body. Heparin, suppressing the activity of hyaluronidase, promotes better recovery of connective tissue. Improves local blood circulation and prevents blood clots by activating the fibrinolytic properties of the blood. Also exhibits anti-inflammatory properties.
One of the auxiliary components of the gel - phenylethyl alcohol (phenylethanol) has bactericidal and fungicidal properties, due to which it prevents infection of inflamed tissues and wound surface.
Indications for use
Venolife gel is used to relieve pain and reduce puffiness, eliminate trophic and microcirculatory disorders caused by venous insufficiency of the lower extremities.
Indications for the use of the drug are:
- Varicose veins ;
- Thrombophlebitis in acute and chronic form;
- Postthrombophlebitic syndrome;
- Chronic lymphostasis;
- Trophic ulcers without pronounced exudation during the regeneration phase;
- Trauma of soft tissues (dislocations, distension, hematomas).
Venolife gel is contraindicated:
- In the presence of open infected wounds or trophic ulcers with abundant exudate discharge;
- With individual intolerance or hypersensitivity to one of the main or auxiliary components.
Dosing and Administration
The gel is applied to the inflamed foci and around them a thin layer. Light movements are distributed over the surface, slightly rubbed (without pressing) until completely absorbed. Multiplicity of application of the drug - 2-3 times a day. The full course of treatment is from 2 to 3 weeks. Questions of the desirability of a longer use of the drug are considered by the doctor based on the form and severity of the disease, the effectiveness of the treatment. In case of exacerbation of chronic pathologies, the therapeutic course can be repeated up to 3 times a year.
In the treatment of trophic ulcers with a weak exudate, the wound surface must be cleaned from exudate and necrotic tissues before applying the gel. The affected areas of the skin are washed with 3% hydrogen peroxide solution, 0.05% chlorhexidine bigluconate solution or furacilin solution (1: 5000 dilution). After cleaning the wound surfaces, wait until the treated areas of the skin are dry. The gel is applied to the lesions, a sterile bandage is applied from above. Change of dressing is carried out once a day. If the treatment is done in an open way (without bandaging), the gel is applied 1-2 times a day. The length of the course of treatment is determined by the doctor, depends on the speed of healing of damaged tissues.
Venolife gel is well tolerated by patients. In some cases, undesirable side effects may occur - local allergic reactions (redness of the skin, itching, rash).
Clinical data on cases of drug overdose are absent.
The drug is not intended for vaginal or rectal administration, for use in ophthalmology.
The pharmacological interaction of Venolife gel with other drugs was not revealed.
Pregnancy and lactemia
Venolife gel can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding
The complete structural analogue of Venolife with identical composition is the drug Troxevasin Neo gel.
