Bom-Benge is available as an ointment for external use. Packed in plastic containers of 25g and in tubes of 25.30 or 50 g.
100 g of Bom-Benge ointment contains 3.9 g of menthol and 20.2 g of methyl salicylate. Vaseline and hard paraffins are used as auxiliary ointment-forming substances.
Mechanism of action
Ointment Bom-Benge is a drug with a combined composition, is used externally. Methyl salicylate and menthol are part of the drugs have a pronounced analgesic effect, as well as a local anesthetic effect, which greatly eases the symptoms of inflammatory processes in muscles and joints.
Menthol acts by stimulating nerve endings and thus has an anesthetic effect at the site of application. Methyl salicylate affects the processes of microcirculation and vascular permeability, inhibits inflammatory mediators.
The local use of Bom-Benge ointment does not allow the active ingredients to be absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream. Therefore, the drug has no systemic effect.
Indications for use
Local therapy of rheumatism, neuralgia, myalgia, arthralgia, lumboischialgia, arthritis and other inflammatory processes in the joints, sciatica, exudative pleurisy.
Bom-Benge should not be used with individual hypersensitivity to the ingredients that make up the ointment.
Use for children up to 3 years is contraindicated.
Violation of the integrity of the skin or their irritation at the site of application of the drug.
Do not apply ointment to mucous membranes, avoid contact with eyes.
During pregnancy and breastfeeding
The use of Bom-Benge during pregnancy and lactation is possible only on the recommendation of a doctor, provided that the benefit exceeds the risk of using this tool for this category of patients.
How to apply and in what doses
Ointment Bom-Benge is used externally, 2-4 g applied exclusively on intact skin. Application should be accompanied by rubbing for 2-5 minutes. Frequency of use is 2-3 times a day. The duration of use is determined by the doctor based on the effectiveness of the treatment, but do not continue to apply the ointment for more than 10 days. Also, the doctor may be prescribed a dry warming bandage in the intervals between the application of ointment.
If irritation occurs on the skin at the site of application, discontinue use of the drug.
In most cases, the use of ointment Bom-Benge is well tolerated and does not show any adverse reactions. In very rare cases, patients with sensitive skin may experience a skin allergic reaction in the form of swelling, redness, itching and / or rash.
It is not recommended to use Bom-Benge ointment on the same skin area with other topical preparations.
The drug Bom-Benge is able to enhance the toxic effect of methotrexate. You should not use it together with oral anticoagulants, as the ointment causes an increase in local blood circulation at the site of application and dilation of blood vessels. This can lead to bleeding.
Use together with drugs that reduce the level of glucose in the blood leads to a decrease in the effectiveness of the latter.
