In the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, drug treatment is possible only if there are serious indications and if the potential benefit to the mother is higher than the likely harm to the fetus.
Treatment with the drug shortly before birth increases the risk of bradycardia and respiratory tract paralysis in a newborn baby, so about one week before the expected date of delivery, Binelol should be discontinued.
Animal studies have shown that the active ingredients of the drug easily penetrate into breast milk and are transmitted to the baby, so if a woman needs to undergo Binelol treatment, then breastfeeding will have to stop.
The drug as a whole is well tolerated, but with a patient's increased dose or uncontrolled long-term use, side effects quickly develop:
- From the nervous system: dizziness and headaches, increasing weakness, drowsiness, in rare cases, depression, decreased concentration, convulsions , paresthesia;
- On the part of the organs of the digestive canal: abdominal pain, constipation, increased gas formation, nausea, dry mouth;

In rare cases, the patient may develop bronchospasm.
When an overdose of the drug, the above phenomena are acute. To the listed symptoms adds cyanosis of the extremities, cardiac arrhythmias, cardiogenic shock, loss of consciousness, coma.
With the development of such symptoms of drug overdose, the patient needs to lie down with an elevated leg end, give an activated carbon or other enterosorbent to drink, call an ambulance.
Treatment of an overdose with beta-blockers is in gastric lavage and symptomatic therapy. With the development of bronchospasm, the patient is given beta2-adrenomimetics intravenously, with pronounced bradycardia, intravenous atropine is indicated. With the development of AV-blockade (II and III degree), intravenous beta-adrenostimulators are injected. With the development of heart failure, the patient is administered cardiac glycosides and diuretics. With convulsions - intravenously diazepam.
Interaction with other drugs
With the simultaneous use of Binelol with nitroglycerin or antihypertensive drugs, the patient rapidly develops a sharp drop in blood pressure, which can lead to collapse.
With the simultaneous use of this drug with general anesthesia, the patient significantly increases the risk of developing arterial hypotension.
With the simultaneous use of Binelol with antidepressants or barbiturates, the hypotensive effect of beta-blockers is intensified, which should be taken into account when prescribing these tablets.
This drug, like any other agent from the group of beta-blockers, can not be abruptly abolished, as this can lead to the development of heart failure or myocardial infarction.
At the beginning of the course of therapy, the patient needs to monitor blood pressure and heart rate daily. In elderly patients, once every 4 months, the condition of the urinary system and their function should be checked.
With the development of bradycardia drug can not be canceled, but simply reduce the daily dose.
If surgical intervention is necessary, the patient should notify the surgeon that he is undergoing beta-blocker therapy.
The drug should be given with special care to patients with diabetes mellitus, since the active substance of Binelol can affect the level of glucose in the blood.
In people with allergies, taking this medication may increase the risk of allergic reactions and bronchospasm.
If the patient is an active smoker and takes Binelol tablets, then he may experience a decrease in the therapeutic effect of the drug.
