The drug Betamax refers to drugs that exhibit antipsychotic properties.
Release form, composition
Betamax is produced in the form of round, biconvex, tablets, covered with a white film coating.
The main active ingredient is sulpiride in the amount of 50 mg, 100 mg or 200 mg per 1 tablet.
Povidone, crospovidone, microcrystalline cellulose, corn starch, magnesium stearate are used as excipients.
The main active ingredient of the drug exhibits antipsychotic properties (it is prescribed for psychoses of different origin). Sulpiride inhibits nervous tension in the tissues and muscles.
Along with this, Betamax exhibits a significant anti-depressant, stimulant and anti-emetic effect.
The effect of the drug appears 2-3 hours after administration.
Indications for use
Betamax is recommended to be prescribed as the main medication or combining with other psychotropic drugs for such diseases as chronic and acute schizophrenia, depression of various origin, acute delirious states, neuroses, migraine, dizziness of various origin (otitis media, craniocerebral trauma, Meniere's disease, vestibular neuritis).
The drug is prescribed as an additional therapy for gastric ulcer, 12 duodenal ulcer, irritable bowel syndrome.

Dosage and method of use
Use the medication should be in the morning no later than 16.00. Tablets can be taken regardless of the use of food and drink water.
In chronic and acute schizophrenia, acute delirious psychosis, the drug is administered 3 times a day at a dose of 600-1200 mg. The maximum daily dose is 1600 mg, supporting - 300-800 mg.
When neurosis reception is carried out 2-3 times a day, 400-600 mg per day.
For depressions of various origins, the intake is carried out 2-3 times a day, 150-600 mg per day.
With dizziness, the dose of the drug is 150-200 mg per day. It is allowed to increase the dose to 300-400 mg per day in severe cases. The duration of treatment is not less than 2 weeks.
When migraine Betamax prescribed in a dosage of 100-300 mg per day.
Using adjuvant therapy in patients with irritable bowel syndrome, gastric ulcer and 12 duodenal ulcer, a dosage of 50 mg 3 times a day is prescribed. The duration of treatment is 1-1.5 months.
Elderly people, during pregnancy, with impaired renal function, try to prescribe the drug in lower doses, and in the future the technique is reduced to the minimum amount.

The bioavailability of sulpiride is reduced by 40% when taking drugs such as antacids with aluminum or magnesium ions and sucralfate.
