Atarax is a drug from the group of tranquilizers (anxiolytics).
The active ingredient of the drug is hydroxyzine hydrochloride. The drug is available in tablet form at a dosage of 25 mg. Lactose, silicon, cellulose, magnesium stearate are used as auxiliary substances.
Receiving Atarax contributes to the provision of sedative, antiemetic, antihistamine (eliminates itching and urticaria), analgesic effects, relaxes skeletal and smooth muscles, improves memory and attention.
The use of the drug lengthens the duration of sleep, reduces the frequency of nighttime awakenings after a single dose of a pill in a dosage of 50 mg.
The use of tablets is not addictive and addictive, the pharmacological effect occurs 15 minutes to half an hour after taking the drug. Against the background of long-term use of tablets, development of withdrawal syndrome and deterioration of cognitive functions of the brain was not observed.

The maximum single dose of the drug should not exceed 200 mg. The maximum daily dose of the drug is 300 mg.

In case of overdose, vomiting, nausea, involuntary movement, hallucinations, impairment of consciousness, dizziness, arrhythmias, lowering of arterial pressure may develop.

The drug is contraindicated in porphyria, during pregnancy, lactation and during labor, with intolerance to active or auxiliary substances tablets.
Patients with intolerance to cetirizine, galactose, piperazine derivatives, aminophylline, ethylenediamine will have to abstain from the use of Atarax.
The drug is used with extreme caution if the patient has myasthenia gravis, prostatic hyperplasia, difficulty defecation and urination, dementia, increased intraocular pressure, susceptibility to arrhythmias and convulsions.
Atorax can not be used in conjunction with drugs that contribute to the provision of arrhythmogenic effect and inhibitory effects on the central nervous system. The simultaneous use of Atarax with cardiac glycosides, atropine, antihypertensive drugs, antihistamines has no effect on reducing the pharmacological effect of these groups of drugs.
Atarax can not be used in conjunction with drugs from the group of anticholinergics and MAO inhibitors.

Atarax is not compatible with alcohol. At the time of therapy should refrain from drinking alcohol.
