Arthrosan Instructions for Use
Arthrosan is a drug from a group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, selective inhibitors of COX-2.
Form of issue, composition
The drug is available in the form of a solution for intramuscular injection. As an active component acts substance meloxicam. In 1 ml of the solution contains 6 mg meloxicam.
As auxiliary substances are: glycine, sodium hydroxide, glycofurol, sodium chloride, water for injection.
Due to its selective effect, the active substance of the drug contributes least to the development of erosive lesions of the stomach and duodenum.
The active component of the drug contributes to the provision of anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, analgesic effects.
Indications for use
Indication for the use of pricks Arthrosan is the symptomatic treatment of the following inflammatory-degenerative diseases:

The drug has no effect on the course of the disease and only contributes to the elimination of pain and inflammation.
Use of arthrosan is not recommended in case of development of individual intolerance of the acting or auxiliary substances of the drug, heart failure, during the recovery period after the procedure of coronary artery bypass grafting, with bronchial asthma and polyposis of paranasal sinuses.
Among other contraindications it can be noted:
- Individual intolerance to drugs that contain aspirin, as well as drugs from the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
- Stomach ulcer (phase of exacerbation), inflammatory diseases of the digestive tract.
- Development of bleeding of unknown origin.
- Diseases of the blood.
- Development of renal and hepatic insufficiency.
Pricks Arthrosan can not be used during childbearing and breastfeeding, as well as patients under 18 years of age.
The drug is used with caution in patients of older age groups, in whose history there are violations of the normal functioning of the cardiovascular system (heart failure, coronary heart disease, etc.); With diabetes, smoking, severe somatic diseases, peptic ulcer disease, as well as when diagnosing Helicobacter pylori.
In order to reduce the risk of adverse effects on the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract, the drug should be used at the lowest effective dose for a short period of time.
Dosing and Administration
Intramuscular administration of the drug is acceptable during the first few days of treatment. In the future, recommended to switch to oral intake of the drug (tablets).
The recommended daily dosage is from 7.5 to 15 mg. The exact dose and duration of the drug is determined by the doctor, taking into account the manifestations of the disease and the individual characteristics of the patient's body.
Patients who are on hemodialysis and who have a history of severe disruption of normal kidney function should not exceed the maximum daily dosage of 7.5 mg.
Arthrosan is not recommended to mix in one syringe with drugs from other groups. Intravenous administration of the drug is unacceptable.

Interaction with other drug groups
This drug should be used with extreme caution when used simultaneously with drugs from the group of anticoagulants (Warfarin), antiaggregants (Plavix, Clopidogrel), alcoholic beverages, corticosteroids in the form of tablets (Prednisolone), Fluoxetine, Paroxetine.
Arthrosan should not be used in conjunction with other drugs from the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
With simultaneous use with diuretics, the risk of developing kidney failure increases.
With simultaneous use with drugs from high blood pressure, their hypotensive effect may decrease.
In the case of combination with vitamin K, heparin, serotonin reuptake inhibitors and fibrinolytics, the risk of bleeding increases.
When developing body reactions that indicate a disruption in the normal functioning of the kidneys (itching and icterus of the skin, vomiting, dark urine, pain in the abdomen), the drug should be stopped immediately and consult a doctor.
Arthrosan can mask the manifestation of infectious diseases.
This drug can not be used as a prophylaxis for thrombosis, despite its ability to reduce platelet aggregation.
