Anafranil - a drug that has an antidepressant effect.
Form of issue and composition
The drug is available in the form of tablets, covered with a light yellow coat, sweet to taste. The tablets are biconvex and round.
Each tablet contains clomipramine hydrochloride 25 mg. As auxiliary substances, lactose, corn starch, stearic acid, silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, talc are used.
The drug is available in the form of long-acting tablets, covered with a pink wrap. The tablet is capsular, biconvex, has a risk on both sides. One side of the tablet is labeled "CG", and the other is "FH".
Each tablet contains clomipramine hydrochloride 75 mg. As auxiliary substances, calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, calcium stearate, polyacrylate, silicon dioxide, titanium dioxide, talc, iron oxide red are used.
When administered orally, clomipramine is completely absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract. Eating does not affect the effectiveness of the drug. Anafranil is prescribed for children older than 5 years with obsessive-compulsive syndrome and nocturnal enuresis.
The effectiveness and safety of treatment of depressive conditions in children and adolescents is not well understood, therefore, the use of Anafranil to 17 years is not recommended for these indications.
Mode of application
The drug should be taken after a meal or while eating.
With phobia, depression and obsessive conditions take 1 tablet 2-3 times a day. Anaphranil SR take 1 tablet in the evening. Within a week, the daily dosage is increased to 150 mg. After improving the condition, the patient is gradually transferred to maintenance therapy (2-4 tablets per day).
In narcolepsy, the daily dose is 25-75 mg.
With chronic pain, the daily dose is 10-150 mg per day.
To relieve the attacks of fear appoint a day of 10 mg in combination with benzodiazepines. In the future, the dose of anaphranil is increased, and benzodiazepine is canceled. The duration of treatment should be at least six months.

Interaction with other drugs
