Anafranil is a drug that has an antidepressant effect.

Release form and composition

Anafranil

The drug is available in the form of tablets, coated with a light yellow shell, sweet in taste. Tablets biconvex and round.

Each tablet contains clomipramine hydrochloride 25 mg. Lactose, corn starch, stearic acid, silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, talc are used as auxiliary substances.

The drug is available in the form of tablets with prolonged action, coated with a pink shell. Capsule tablet, biconvex, has a risk on both sides. One side of the tablet is labeled “CG” and the other side is “FH”.

Each tablet contains clomipramine hydrochloride 75 mg. Calcium hydrophosphate dihydrate, calcium stearate, polyacrylate, silicon dioxide, titanium dioxide, talc, iron oxide red are used as excipients.

Pharmacokinetics

With oral administration, clomipramine is completely absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract. Eating does not affect the effectiveness of the drug. Indications for use

The drug is used in the treatment of depressive conditions caused by prolonged pain, chronic pain syndrome in patients with cancer, phobias and panic fears, rheumatism, migraine, catalepsy, narcolepsy.

Anafranil is prescribed to children older than 5 years with obsessive-compulsive syndrome and nocturnal enuresis.

The efficacy and safety of treating depressive conditions in children and adolescents has not been sufficiently studied, so the use of Anafranil up to 17 years is not recommended for this indication.


Mode of application

The drug should be taken after meals or while eating food.

For phobias, depression, and obsessive states, take 1 tablet 2–3 times a day. Anafranil CP take 1 tablet in the evening. During the week, daily dosage is increased to 150 mg. After improving the condition, the patient is gradually transferred to maintenance therapy (2-4 tablets per day).

When narcolepsy daily dose is 25-75 mg.

With chronic pain, the daily dose is 10-150 mg per day.

To relieve fear attacks, 10 mg per day is prescribed in combination with benzodiazepines. Further the dose of anafranil is increased, and benzodiazepine is canceled. The duration of treatment should be at least six months.

For children, the drug is prescribed for 10 days, 10 mg per day. In children 5-7 years later, the dosage is increased to 20 mg, children 8-14 years old - up to 50 mg, children older than 14 years old - up to 50 mg and more.

Side effects
