Dosage form: tablets of white color of an oblong form with risk.
Clinico-pharmacological group: A broad-spectrum antibacterial drug of the penicillin group with beta-lactamase inhibitor.
Pharmacotherapeutic group: Ampicillin and Sulbactam double ester, a derivative of 6-aminopenicillic acid.
Active ingredient : Sultamicillin tosylate dihydrate.
Excipients : microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycolate, polyethylene glycol, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, titanium dioxide, magnesium stearate.
The drug has a bactericidal effect on gram-positive and gram-negative aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, inhibiting the biosynthesis of peptoglycans of the bacterial cell membrane. Ampicillin double ester readily disintegrates under the influence of beta-lactamase, and sulbactam irreversibly inhibits a group of bacterial enzymes aimed at combating penicillin antibiotics.
It is active against the family of staphylococci, streptococci, Coley bacteria, Klebsiella, morganella, peptokkov, clostridia, peptostreptokokkov. Bacteroids.
After ingestion Ampisid in the digestive tract breaks down into ampicillin and sulbactam (1: 1). Eating time does not have a significant impact on the bioavailability of the drug.
Maximum concentration in plasma reaches in 1-2 hours. The binding of the active substance to plasma proteins is 28% (ampicillin) and 38% (sulbactam). The drug is distributed to all tissues and body fluids. Quickly droops into the lung tissue, middle ear fluid, bronchial secretions, urine and bile. In high concentrations accumulates in the liver. Concentration in bile is 2 times higher than plasma concentration.
The half-life is 45 minutes and 60 minutes, respectively. In patients with renal impairment, elderly people and newborns T1 / 2 is longer. About 55-75% of Amphisides is excreted by the kidneys, a small part - by the intestines, along with feces. Indications for use
- Infections of the upper and lower respiratory tract;

- Postoperative prophylaxis after cesarean section and abortion;

The daily dose for adults and children weighing more than 30 kg is prescribed taking into account the age and severity of the disease (375-750 mg / day, divided into 2 times).
In children under 5 years old with a body weight less than 30 kg, the daily dose of the drug is 50 mg per 1 kg of weight, divided into 2 doses.
The average duration of treatment is 5-14 days. After the disappearance of the clinical signs of the disease, the drug should be used for another 2-3 days.
On the part of the skin : itching, urticaria , erythema multiforme.
On the part of the digestive tract : nausea, diarrhea, glossitis, enterocolitis, pseudomembranous colitis (rarely).
On the part of the hematopoietic system : decrease in hemoglobin level, lymphocytosis, thrombocytopenia, eosinophilia, agranulocytosis, thrombocytosis (from ≥0.1% to <1%).
On the part of the urinary system interstitial nephrosis (from ≥0.1% to <1%).
Others : with prolonged use of the drug candida vagina, in patients with low resistance of the body may develop superinfection.
The drug enhances the action of anticoagulants (changes platelet aggregation and hemocoagulation).
Ampisid is an antagonist of drugs with a bacteriostatic effect (tetracyclines, sulfonamides, erythromycin and chloramphenicol) and a synergist of cephalosporins, aminoglycosides, rifampicin, vancomycin, cycloserine.
With simultaneous use with glucosamines, aminoglycosides, laxatives and antacids, slow absorption is observed, and when taken along with ascorbic acid, metabolism increases.
It reduces the effectiveness of oral contraceptives and drugs that form para-aminobenzoic acid in the process of metabolism.
Diuretics, NSAIDs, Probenecid, Allopurinol and other drugs that reduce tubular secretion, used in combination with Ampisid, increase the concentration of the antibacterial drug, prolong its half-life and increase the risk of toxicity.
- Individual intolerance to the components of the drug;

Treatment with penicillin preparations sometimes leads to the development of quite serious conditions, including anaphylactic shock and death. Therefore, in the event of even minor allergic reactions, the drug should be noted and appropriate treatment should be assigned to the patient.
Patients with septic complications may form a bacteriolysis reaction.
During treatment, the function of the liver, kidney and hematopoietic system should be constantly monitored. Also in this situation, excessive growth of microorganisms insensitive to Ampisid (including fungal microflora) can be observed.
With an overdose of the antibiotic, dizziness, fatigue, headaches, drowsiness, general malaise, sleep disturbance, emotional lability, depression, increased anxiety are observed. At very high concentrations of the drug in the cerebrospinal fluid disrupts the normal functioning of the central nervous system, up to the development of seizures.
