Allokin-Alpha belongs to the group of antiviral drugs. This drug shows high activity in relation to influenza viruses, hepatitis B and C, 1 and 2 types of the herpes virus and papilloma virus.
Composition of the preparation and form of release
Allokin is available in the form of a powder intended for the preparation of a solution for further injection use. The drug is packed in ampoules of 1 mg in cardboard packs from 1 to 10 pieces in cells.
The main active substance of the drug Allokin-Alpha is alloferon-oligopeptide - a component that stimulates the production of interferons in the body, aimed at maintaining the human immune system. The main active substance stimulates the activity of lymphocytes to recognize foreign components and immediately destroy them.
Pharmacokinetic properties of the preparation
The high effectiveness of the Allokin-Alpha preparation is proved in relation to diseases caused by the human papilloma virus, influenza viruses, hepatitis B and C viruses, and herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2.
The active substance of the drug - Alloferon has no toxic effect, therefore, even at high doses, there is no adverse effect on the patient's body. In addition, Allokin-Alpha does not have teratogenic, mutagenic or carcinogenic effects on the fetus during pregnancy. In the course of clinical trials it was found that the main active substance of the drug does not cause negative effects on the organs of the reproductive system of humans and animals.
After penetration of the drug under the skin (by injection), the main active substance - Alloferon quickly enters the systemic bloodstream and enters into an active interaction with the cells of the body. The products of the metabolic processes of the main active ingredient Allokin-Alfa are similar in their structure and structure to plasma proteins, therefore they are difficult to detect by means of analyzes.
2 hours after the administration of the drug, its maximum concentration in the blood is reached, which persists for 6-8 hours. The increased activity of lymphocytes after the administration of a single dose of the drug Adlokin-Alpha is retained for another 1 week.
Indications for use of the drug
Allokin-Alpha has a wide range of effects on the human immune system. This drug is most often prescribed in the following cases:
- Treatment of chronic papillomavirus infection, which can cause cancerous growths;
- The drug can be used as an auxiliary therapy for lesions of the cervix in women or anogenital region (condyloma, erosion);
- As part of the complex treatment of chronic and often recurrent herpes virus type 1 and type 2 - in order for the treatment to be as effective as possible, the drug should be started as soon as possible, literally with the appearance of the first vesicles of the lesion;
- In the complex treatment for acute and chronic hepatitis B or hepatitis C - in order to achieve the maximum therapeutic effect of the drug, its use is important to begin no later than 7 days after the appearance of icterus of the skin and mucous membranes.
Method of application and dosage
The drug Allokin-Alpha is indicated for injection after the preliminary preparation of the solution. In order to properly prepare the solution of the contents of 1 ampoule, the drug must be dissolved in 1 ml of physiological sodium chloride solution. To avoid the development of side effects, doctors do not recommend using any other drugs to dissolve ampoule powder. In addition, the content of the ampoule with the drug is categorically forbidden to mix in one syringe with other drugs intended for parenteral administration. Use the resulting diluted solution immediately, each time preparing a new dose before the injection.
The duration of the course of treatment and dosage of the drug Allokin-Alpha is determined only by the doctor individually for each individual patient, depending on the indices and severity of his condition.
With the development of diseases caused by the human papillomavirus causing cancer, the patient is prescribed an injection of 1 mg of the drug every two days. The total recommended dose for these pathologies is at least 6 injections, if necessary, the number of administrations can be increased at the discretion of the specialist.
In chronic and often recurrent herpetic infections during the exacerbation of the disease, the patient is prescribed an injection of 1 mg of alloferon every 2 days, so only 3 injections are needed.
In acute hepatitis In a moderate severity of the course after confirmation of the diagnosis, the patient is prescribed 1 mg of the drug three times a week. The course of therapy for this pathology is only nine injections. Depending on the tolerability of the drug and the patient's general condition, the doctor may prescribe another course of therapy for Allokin-Alpha.
Side effects and symptoms of drug overdose
As a rule, the drug Allokin-Alpha Hoosho is transferred to the patient. In very rare cases, the patient may complain of dizziness, weakness and general malaise.
Cases of an overdose of the drug Allokin-Alpha have not been reported in medicine.
Contraindications to use
The drug Allokin-Alpha is contraindicated in patients:
- With individual intolerance of the main active substance of the drug;
- Patients suffering from autoimmune pathologies;
- Patients before they reach 12 years of age.
Pregnancy and lactation period
Despite the fact that the main active substance of the drug Allokin-Afa does not have a teratogenic and mutagenic effect on the fetus, the use of this drug during the waiting period of the child is contraindicated.
During the period of breastfeeding, physicians are also not advised to undergo treatment with this medication, otherwise the child should be transferred to a suitable adapted formula.
Interaction with other medicinal products
During the period of using the drug on the basis of alloferon, it can be used simultaneously with drugs that have a harmful effect on herpes simplex viruses, hepatitis B and C, human papillomavirus.
