Allohol tablets belong to the group of herbal drugs, which establish the process of formation and removal of bile from the gallbladder. The proper functioning of this organ ensures the full functioning of the liver and reduces the risk of the formation of stones or sand in the bile ducts.
Drug release form and composition
Allohil is available in tablet form and is intended for oral ingestion. The tablet is yellow, covered with a glossy sweet shell. The composition of one tablet contains:
- Dry bile of animals (most often pork);
- Garlic extract;
- Nettle extract;
- Activated carbon.
The drug is available in blisters of 10, 20, 50 pieces per pack.
Pharmacokinetic properties of the drug
After oral administration, the drug begins to stimulate the strengthening and acceleration of the process of removing bile from the body. Due to the active ingredients contained in the tablet, intestinal peristalsis is improved, which contributes to the prevention of constipation and the development of putrefactive stagnant processes. Allohol tablets normalize the process of bile formation, contractile abilities of the gallbladder, and, accordingly, the functioning of the liver.
Improvement of the gallbladder and liver contribute to the normalization of the secretory capabilities of the pancreas and duodenum. As a result, nutrients are absorbed from the food almost completely, bloating and a feeling of heaviness in the intestines disappear. Full bile secretion under the influence of Allohol tablets has a slight antispasmodic property, which leads to the elimination of pain in the abdomen and right hypochondrium, nausea and bitter taste in the mouth.
Indications for use of the drug
Allohol tablets are most often prescribed for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes of such conditions:
- As a complex treatment of chronic forms of hepatitis in order to improve the flow of bile;
- Prevention or initial stages of liver cirrhosis;
- Inflammation of the hepatic ducts;
- Inflammation of the chronic gallbladder in remission;
- Violation of the full flow of bile, symptoms of dyskinesia - nausea, vomiting, complaints of pain in the right hypochondrium, diarrhea or constipation;
- Chronic constipation due to impaired digestive function;
- Not complicated for cholelithiasis;
- Condition after removal of the gallbladder.
Methods of use of the drug and dose
Allohol pills are taken strictly after a meal! It is strictly forbidden to use this medicine on an empty stomach, since the ingredients in the preparation also stimulate the production of hydrochloric acid and in the absence of food in the stomach, this acid will dissolve the mucous membranes of the organ, leading to erosive gastritis or peptic ulcer.
Adults take 1-2 tablets of the drug 1 hour after meals for 3-4 weeks, depending on the evidence. The number of daily intakes is determined by the doctor for each individual patient, but, as a rule, it is necessary to drink tablets 3 times a day. During the exacerbation of chronic pathologies of the biliary tract, the question of the further use of Allohol should be resolved with the doctor, since the doses of the drug can cause an even worse deterioration of the general condition.
If necessary, and depending on the indications, the course of taking the drug can be extended to 3 months, after which it is necessary to make an interval of 3 months.
Use of the drug in pediatric practice
Allohol tablets can be used to treat children from 3 years of age. The dose of the drug, the duration of treatment and the number of daily intakes is determined by the doctor. Children as well as adults need to eat before taking the medicine.
Use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation
Allohol tablets can be taken during pregnancy only when the expected benefit for a woman is higher than the possible negative consequences for the fetus. Despite the fact that the preparation contains only natural ingredients, due to changes in the work of all internal organs, any drugs are not recommended at the time of carrying the child! During pregnancy, women may develop biliary stasis, as a result of which small stones quickly form. With the unauthorized use of Allohol, the unpleasant symptoms of the expectant mother can only worsen, so it is very important to consult with a specialist before starting treatment.
The use of the drug during the breastfeeding period should also be coordinated with the doctor, as a small part of the medicine is absorbed into breast milk and can be passed to the child.
Is it possible to combine Allohol with alcoholic beverages?
The use of alcoholic beverages leads to increased intestinal motility and secretory abilities of the gastric tract. In addition, alcoholic beverages enhance the secretion of bile, which in combination with choleretic drugs can lead to irritation of the intestinal walls and painful diarrhea.
In addition to the above properties, alcoholic beverages can also spasm small vessels and bile ducts, which, in combination with the use of Allohol, can cause inflammation of the gallbladder, the development of jaundice of the skin and severe pain in the right hypochondrium.
Side effects
As a rule, this drug is well tolerated by patients, however, with an independent increase in dose or uncontrolled long-term use of tablets, the following negative phenomena may develop:
- Diarrhea;
- Stomach ache;
- Bowel cramps;
- Heartburn, belching;
- Abdominal distention and gas formation.
If you are hypersensitive to one of the components of the drug, the patient may experience an allergic rash on the skin. As a rule, after stopping the medication or a significant dose reduction, all unpleasant phenomena quickly disappear without any medical assistance.
Contraindications
Despite the content in the preparation of only natural ingredients Allohol has a number of contraindications. These include:
- Hypersensitivity of the patient to at least one of the active ingredients contained in the tablet;
- Blockage of the bile ducts with stones (stones) or sand;
- Obstruction of the hepatic ducts as a result of compression by their tumor;
- Acute inflammatory diseases of the liver and biliary tract;
- Gallstone disease in remission, but with the presence of stones more than 1 mm in diameter;
- Peptic ulcer of the stomach or duodenum;
- Children age up to 3 years.
The interaction of the drug with other drugs
During the use of Allohol tablets, it is important not to take any other drugs belonging to the choleretic group.
The simultaneous use of the drug with antibiotics relieves inflammation in the gallbladder.
The simultaneous use of the drug with laxatives can lead to the development of diarrhea, in particular, with an incorrectly calculated dosage of a particular medicine.

Other drugs that have a choleretic effect can also be considered an analogue of Allohol:
