Allapinin: instructions for use

Allapinin is a drug used to treat heart rhythm disorders. It is an antiarrhythmic drug. Belongs to class I C.

Release form, composition

The drug is available in the form of round tablets. Each tablet contains 25 mg of the main active ingredient - lappaconitine hydrobromide. Additional substances: sugar or sucrose, potato starch, calcium.

Available in contour cells of 10 or 30 pieces. The cells are in cartons.

Allapinin is also available in the form of a solution for intravenous and intramuscular administration.

Indications for use

Allapinin has a local anesthetic, sedative, moderate antispasmodic, coronary-dilating and anticholinergic action.

The drug is recommended for use in the following pathologies:

• premature heartbeats (extrasystoles);
• atrial flutter;
• bouts of increased heart rate;
• congenital pathologies in which there are irregularities in the rhythm of heart contractions.

Contraindications

Reception Allapinina impossible with the following deviations or diseases:

• heart block, in which the hemodynamics of the heart is disturbed;
• severe or chronic liver or kidney disease;
• various heart diseases that are accompanied by rhythm disturbances;
• children under 18 years old.

Mode of application

The drug in pills should be taken as follows: before taking the pill must be crushed, taken orally 30-40 minutes before a meal, with a glass of warm water.

The initial dose should not exceed 25 mg every 8 hours. On the recommendation of the attending physician, the dose of the drug may be increased to 50 mg every 7 hours.

The course of treatment depends on the specifics of the disease and symptoms. In more severe cases, treatment can last up to two months.

The maximum dose for oral administration: with a single dose - 50 mg daily - 300 mg, the effect of the drug begins after 45-65 minutes. The effect of taking allapinina can last up to 7-8 hours.

Injection: in / in the drug is administered at 0.3 mg / kg. Before injection, the drug must be dissolved in 20 ml of sodium chloride. The tool must be entered very slowly, within 5-7 minutes. If the therapeutic effect has not come, the dose can be repeated, but not earlier than after 6 hours.

Side effects  

When therapy with this drug or with an incorrect dose, the following side effects are possible:

• dizziness, occasionally loss of consciousness;
• headache or heaviness in the head;
• blurred eyes, feeling of ghosting;
• in some cases, possible tachycardia, palpitations.

In the event of such symptoms, the dose should be reduced. If there is no improvement, you should consult with your doctor to cancel or replace the medication.

Overdose

The use of Allapinin in combination with other antiarrhythmic drugs even in small dosages can cause an overdose.

Treatment should be aimed at eliminating the symptoms that have arisen.

Interaction with other drugs

With the simultaneous use of Allapinin and inducers of microsomal liver enzymes, the therapeutic effect is reduced. In some cases, may develop toxic effects.

The drug is not recommended to be taken simultaneously with other antiarrhythmic drugs.
