Alflutop is a medicinal substance belonging to the group of chondroprotectors - substances that improve the metabolic processes in cartilage tissue.
The composition of the drug and the release form
Alflutop comes in the form of injection solution in 1 or 2 ml ampoules, packaged in individual cells in a cardboard box.
The contents of one ampoule is a clear or slightly yellow solution with no pronounced odor.
The main active ingredient of the drug is a biological concentrate, obtained from marine small fish (anchovy, kilka, puzanka), which is subjected to numerous cleansing and deproteinization. Auxiliary substances are phenol and distilled water.
Extracts from marine fish in large quantities contain hyaluronic acid, a number of macro and microelements, chondroitin-4-sulphate, chondroitin-6-sulphate - all these substances normalize the metabolic processes in the joints and restore cartilage tissue.
Pharmacological properties of the drug
The active substances that make up Alflutop have a pronounced analgesic, anti-inflammatory effect on the body. Under the influence of active biological extracts from fish, cartilage tissue and metabolic processes in the articular sac are restored.
All pathologies of the joints in patients are accompanied by severe pain, even with a slight load, and as the pathological processes and metabolic cartilage tissue progresses, pain even in a state of complete rest, dividing the life of the patient intolerable. Injections Alflutop can in a short period of time greatly alleviate all of the above symptoms, and after completing the course of therapy, patients note the complete disappearance of pain and the restoration of efficiency of the affected joints.
This drug is also prescribed for the treatment of hernia of the spine, but the reviews of patients who did the injections are somewhat contradictory: some claim that the drug had no effect, others that it got worse. According to experts, injections of Alflutop in these cases are prescribed to prevent complications that may develop with the progression of hernial protrusion and as a warning of the formation of new hernias.
Indications for use
Alflutop injections are prescribed to patients for treatment and prophylaxis as part of the complex therapy of such conditions:
- Disorders of metabolic processes in cartilage tissue;
- Severe pain in the joints, occurring first with the loads, and as the pathology progresses at rest;
- Hernial protrusion in the spinal column;
- Injuries to the joints or spinal column;
Alflutop injections can be prescribed to patients as a reducing and prophylactic agent after surgical interventions on joints or ruptures of the paraarticular bag.
Despite the fact that the composition of the drug Alflutop contains natural ingredients, it has some contraindications to use:
- Individual hypersensitivity to the drug;
- Severe allergic reactions to fish products and their extracts;
- Age up to 14 years.
Use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation
Alflutop injections are not prescribed to treat joint problems in pregnant women. Despite the fact that the preparation contains natural components, clinical trials of the drug on the fetus have not been conducted, and there is no evidence of its safety for the fetal development of the child.
During breastfeeding, this drug is not prescribed, since the active ingredients of the drug penetrate into breast milk and may adversely affect the health of the child. If you need to treat a nursing woman with Alflutop injections, you should stop breastfeeding and transfer the baby to an adapted milk formula.
In pediatric practice, this drug has not been used, so there is no data on its effect on the body of a child or adolescents.
As a rule, the drug is well tolerated by patients, but in some cases, if you exceed the dose or individual hypersensitivity to the components of the injection, the following side effects may develop:
- Feeling hot or burning in the area of an injection drug;
- Skin rash, itching;
- Increased body temperature in the places of injections;
- Muscle pain;
If these symptoms appear, treatment with the drug should be stopped and urgently seek medical attention.
Dosage and administration
If polyosteoarthrosis or osteochondrosis is detected, Alflutop injections are prescribed intramuscularly to patients for 1 ml per day. The course of treatment is determined by the doctor, depending on the general condition, the neglect of the disease, the presence of concomitant pathologies. As a rule, the course of therapy does not exceed 20 injections.
With extensive lesions of large joints, intra-articular administration of the drug is recommended, but it is almost impossible to do so at home, and even dangerous. The course of treatment in such cases is 6 injections of 2 ml in each affected joint with intervals between the injections in 3 days.
The injection is prepared immediately before the introduction of the drug, heating the ampoule to the patient's body temperature. Before starting the administration of the drug, you should make sure that you do not hit the blood vessel; for this, it is worth pulling the plunger of the syringe a little.
In some cases, with numerous lesions of the joints and significant metabolic disorders in the cartilage tissue, doctors can combine intramuscular administration of the drug with intra-articular injections.
In case of diseases of the joints of a chronic nature, in order to prevent exacerbations, the patient is recommended to repeat courses of treatment every six months.
