The drug Atsidin-pepsin belongs to the group of digestive enzymes, which is designed to facilitate the processes of digestion of food and reduce the burden on the pancreas.
Form of formulation and composition of the preparation
Acidin is available in the form of tablets for oral administration. The tablets are rounded and covered with a protective coating. The drug is issued in a cardboard package of 5 blisters, each of which is placed on 10 tablets. The main active ingredients of this drug are gastric enzymes, which stimulate the production of hydrochloric acid.
Pharmacological properties of the preparation
Tablets of this drug are a complex remedy, the main action of which is to facilitate the process of digesting food and reduce the food load on the pancreas and stomach.
The pepsin, which is part of the preparation, is produced by the body in an inactive form in the form of pepsinogen. Under the influence of enzymes of the stomach and gastric juice, this inactive form turns into pepsin and takes an active part in the digestive process.
As a result of complex chemical reactions in the stomach, hydrochloric acid is formed, which interacts with the enzymes of the stomach, increases the acidity of the gastric juice and promotes digestion of food in the stomach.
Indications for use of the drug
Acidin tablets are given to patients in the following situations:
- Inflammatory diseases of the digestive canal, which are accompanied by a change in the normal level of acidity in the stomach to a lesser extent or by the complete absence of hydrochloric acid (gastritis with reduced acidity and anatomic gastritis as part of complex therapy);
- Digestive disorders of various origins (dyspepsia);
- Violation of the process of formation of hydrochloric acid in the stomach or the absence of enzymes with which hydrochloric acid should enter into an active interaction.
Contraindications to the use of the drug
According to the instructions, this medication can not be administered to patients in the following cases:
- Gastritis with an increased level of acidity in the stomach;
- Individual intolerance to the components of the drug;
- Peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum;
- Gastroduodenitis with erosive surfaces;
- Gastric bleeding of unexplained etiology;
- Malignant tumors of the stomach.
Use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation
In medicine, there is no precise data on the safety of the use of the drug acidin pepsin in the period of gestation. According to gynecologists, women who are expecting the birth of a child are generally advised not to take any medications, as this can cause pathologies in the fetus or disrupt the course of pregnancy. In addition, expectant mothers often have digestive disorders, but this is often not because the stomach produces insufficient amounts of hydrochloric acid, but as a result of the pressure of the growing uterus on internal organs, including the stomach. When a pregnant woman experiences such things as heaviness in the stomach, belching, heartburn, epigastric pain, nausea and vomiting, see a doctor. Food for future mothers is recommended to take small portions of 5-6 times a day.
The use of the drug acidin pepsin during breastfeeding is possible, but only by the presence of indications and under the strict supervision of a physician. Interrupt breast feeding for the period of treatment is not necessary.
Dosing and Administration
Tablets of pepsin acidum are recommended to be taken orally during meals or immediately after meals. Preliminary preparation is better to dissolve in water. Adults appoint 2 tablets 3-4 times a day.
Children older than 6 years, this drug is prescribed for ½ tablet up to 4 times a day, depending on the degree of expression of digestive disorders. The duration of the course of treatment for children and adults is determined by the doctor, depending on the indications and nature of the course of the disease.
As a rule, tablets of Acidin are well tolerated by patients. In rare cases, if the dosage indicated by the doctor is exceeded or uncontrolled for a long time, the patient may develop the following side effects:
- Pain in the epigastric region;
- Nausea and vomiting;
- Development of constipation;
- Allergic reactions to the skin - rash, itching, rarely hives .
If these side effects occur, the drug should be discontinued and consult a doctor. As a rule, after the withdrawal of treatment, all unpleasant symptoms go away without any medical intervention.
Interaction of the drug with other drugs
With the simultaneous use of the drug Atsidina with antacids, its therapeutic effect is reduced.
This drug can not be taken simultaneously with drugs of hydrochloric acid or hydrochloric acid in its pure form, since in this case the risk of development of ulcerative formations on the mucous membrane of the stomach and duodenum is sharply increased.
It is forbidden to use pepsin azidine tablets simultaneously with its analogues, for example, Acipeptol, Betacid, Ppsaminov, since in this case the risk of overdose and serious side effects increases dramatically.
Patients should understand that the drug acidin pepsin stimulates the production of hydrochloric acid in the stomach and can be prescribed as a medicine only if there are serious indications. Unauthorized use of this drug without a preliminary examination of the pH of the stomach can lead to the development of erosion and massive gastric and intestinal bleeding.
