The drug Azerbin refers to a group of antiseptics, intended for outdoor use.
Release form and composition of the drug
Acerbin is available in the form of a spray for outdoor use in bottles of 30 and 80 ml. The liquid is clear with a slight yellowish tinge.
The main active ingredients of the antiseptic are benzoic acid, malic acid, salicylic acid and auxiliary components - purified water, propylene glycol, monomalate.
Pharmacological properties of the drug
Spray Acarbin is used to treat open wounds and ulcerative skin lesions, the drug quickly adjusts the regeneration processes, relieves puffiness and hyperemia, disinfects the affected surface. With proper use of the drug Acarbin contributes to the granulation of the wound surface and the rapid formation of a crust, reduces the formation of wound fluid.
Salicylic acid, which is part of the preparation, helps to clean the wound surface from necrotic changes in the tissue, and also stimulates epithelial regeneration processes.
Malic acid, which is part of the drug, has a positive therapeutic effect on metabolic processes in the wound and stimulates the removal of carbon dioxide from the damaged area, which in turn prevents the wound surface from rotting and the attachment of a secondary bacterial infection.
Benzoic acid, which is part of the preparation, has a pronounced antiseptic and antifungal effect.
Indications for use
Spray Azerbin prescribed for the treatment of such damage to the skin:
- Abrasions, scratches and cracks in the skin resulting from a slightly mechanical impact;
- Bedsores in bedridden patients;
- Trophic ulcers, developing on the background of the progression of varicose veins;
- Long-term unhealed gangrenous surfaces in patients with diabetes mellitus - as part of complex treatment with other drugs;
- Skin treatment for fungal infections as part of complex therapy.
Contraindications to use
Spray Azerbin has a number of its contraindications, which include:
- Individual intolerance of active ingredients contained in the preparation;
- Allergic reactions in the history of salicylic acid;
- Children age up to 1 month.
Dosage and administration
This drug is prescribed to adults and children to treat the wound surface. After pre-cleaning the wound from crusts, purulent discharges and dirt, Atzerbin spray is applied to the affected area 2-3 times a day. After the start of granulation and dry crust formation, only 1 application of the preparation per day is sufficient.
Children older than 1 month spray is prescribed under the supervision of a doctor no more than 2 times a day. The duration of the course of drug treatment depends largely on the general condition of the wound surface and the speed of skin regeneration processes, but in general is not more than 3 weeks. If after this time a positive therapeutic effect is not observed, treatment with acebin should be stopped and consult a doctor to confirm the correctness of the diagnosis and the treatment prescribed.
The drug is well tolerated by patients, however, rare cases of side effects are described, which manifest themselves in the form of the following symptoms:
- Burning and feeling of tightness of the skin in places of application of the drug;

- A rash on the skin in places of application;
- Dry skin with increased sensitivity;

With prolonged and uncontrolled use of the spray Atzerbin in a patient, overdose symptoms may develop due to the constant absorption of salicylic acid into the bloodstream:
- Headaches, dizziness;
- Nausea, vomiting, dry mouth;
- The noise in the ears, their congestion;
- Increased sweating;
- Slight decrease in blood pressure.
With a strong overdose of salicylates, the patient may develop abnormalities in the liver and symptoms of general intoxication of the body.
When these clinical symptoms appear, the patient must reduce the dosage of the drug and all negative effects will disappear without any medical assistance.
The interaction of the drug with other drugs
With the simultaneous use of spray Atserbin with other drugs containing salicylic acid, the risk of side effects and an allergic reaction increases dramatically. If you are already using any antiseptic based on the substances that are part of the spray Azerin, you should definitely inform your doctor.
The use of the drug Acerbine externally with extensive skin lesions burns, bedsores, ulcers should be carried out only under the strict supervision of a doctor!
With even minor irregularities in the work of the kidneys and liver Acterbin should be used with special care under the supervision of a physician, avoiding a long course of therapy and applying a spray to large areas of the skin.

Use of this drug in the 2nd and 3rd trimester is possible only after assessing the risk / benefit for the fetus and the expectant mother.
The use of the spray during the breastfeeding period is possible under the supervision of a physician and according to strict indications.
