ACC powder application instructions
The preparation ACC is a drug with a mucolytic effect and intended for the treatment of various diseases of the respiratory system. Available in granular form. Granules are intended for further dissolution in water and use in the form of drinking.
Release form and composition
The active ingredient is acetylcysteine. Granules have a homogeneous consistency without lumps with an orange flavor. Each bag of granules contains 200 or 100 mg of acetylcysteine. In addition to the active substance, auxiliary components are added to the composition: saccharin, ascorbic acid, sucrose, and orange flavoring. Indications for use
ACC should be used for such painful conditions:
- the formation of sputum difficult viscous consistency;
- obstructive bronchitis ;
- bronchial asthma;
- cystic fibrosis;
- in the treatment of chronic and acute sinusitis;
- otitis media is average;
- other diseases of the respiratory system.
The ban on the use of the drug ACC applies to lactating and pregnant women, children under two years of age, patients with hypersensitivity to any component of this tool. Increased caution is required when ACs are prescribed for people with varicose veins in the esophagus, with hemoptysis, bronchial asthma (due to possible complications such as bronchospasm), failures in the kidneys or adrenal glands, liver, ulcers. In pregnant women, taking ACC is possible only in extreme cases when the benefits exceed the likelihood of undesirable consequences.
Dosing and Administration
ACC in adolescents from the age of 14 years and in adults, is applied according to the scheme. In the treatment of diseases of the respiratory system should receive 1 package with an acetylcysteine content of 200 mg or 2 packages of 100 mg of the drug substance 3 times for 24 hours. The total dose of acetylcysteine ranges from 400 to 600 mg per day. It is divided into several receptions after consultation with the doctor.
Children from 6 to 14 years of age should consume 300 - 400 mg of the drug substance per day. Reception is divided into 3 or 2 times at approximately equal intervals.
Children from 2 to 5 years prescribed ACC at a dose of 100 mg twice a day.
Another treatment regimen is performed in the treatment of cystic fibrosis. From the age of six, a 200 mg dose is required three times a day. Children 2 - 5 years should drink the drug 100 mg four times in 24 hours. Sometimes it is required to increase the daily dose to 800 mg in patients who weigh more than 30 kg.
Diseases that take a short time require therapy with an ACC for about 6-7 days. In the case of treatment of cystic fibrosis or chronic problems with the respiratory system, a long course is needed, selected by the doctor strictly individually.
How to dilute the powder ACC?
The drug ACC is prescribed strictly after meals. The granules in the bag should be dissolved in a cool liquid (tea, water, juice). Parallel intake of liquids significantly increases the activity of acetylcysteine.
During therapy, there may be such unpleasant complications:
- noise in ears;
- the appearance of inflammatory elements in the oral cavity;
- nausea or heartburn;
- frustration of a chair;
- tachycardia ;
- lower blood pressure;
- recorded single complaints of allergic complications. Most often there is bronchospasm, which is usually fixed in patients with increased bronchial reactivity. Itching or rash may occur;
- development of bleeding (extremely rare).
Patients with diabetes should take into account the fact that the package of ACC with a dosage of 200 mg corresponds to 0.23 BE, and with a dosage of 100 mg - 0.24 BE. Granules contain sucrose. When feeding and lactation, the ACC is administered under strict medical supervision in extreme cases.
It is forbidden to use ACC with substances that have antitussive effect. Chronic mucus in the bronchi is possible. You need to know that nitroglycerin, taken simultaneously with acetylcysteine, will enhance its vasodilator effect. ACC is incompatible with antibiotic drugs. This is especially true of cephalosporins, penicillins, erythromycin, amphotericin B and tetracycline. It is also not possible to take ACC with proteolytic enzymes. Granules ACC dissolve only in glass containers. Do not use dishes from metals. In the presence of bronchial asthma or obstructive bronchitis, acetylcysteine is administered with periodic bronchial patency.
